Specialist shopsconcentrate either totally on a particular type of product, like a shoe shop, for example, or on a narrow range of related porducts, like for example a chemist´s shop.
Department stores sell a very wide range of products and are divided up into a numer of ´departments´, each offering its own distinctive product range.
Supermarkets or hypermarkets offer a comprehensive range of porducts at competitive prices. Supermarkets initially appeared in the grocery sector, but they now often provide non-food lines, such as hardware, decorating materials, footwear and clothing, and radio and telefision.
Discount sotres specialize in a limited range of porducts that they sell at highly discounted prices, i.e. at prices well below the manufacturers´listed prices.
Mail orderallows customers to buy goods without visiting a shop. Customers can fill in and return coupons in newspapers for advertised goods, or order goods from mail order catalogue for delivery direct to their homes.
home shoppinguses TV commercials to inform the potential buyers about the goods on offer. Customers can call to-free numers to place their orders, which are delivered direct to their homes.
E-commerce is a recent development. Internet sufers can visit virtual shops that display their goods on the computer screen, and the customer can order those goods with a few mouse clicks. The goods are delivered direct to their homes. |

So ganz allgemein?
Verschiedene Typen des Einzelhandels werden definiert:
Fachgeschäft, Kaufhäuser(?), Supermarkt, Discounter, Versandhandel, zu home shopping fällt mir grad nichts Passendes ein, Internet-Handel.
War's das schon, was Du meintest???
Oder hast Du zu den Texten / einzelnen Passagen selbst Fragen?
Der Text enthält übrigens ein paar kleinere orthographische Fehler, die wohl nur beim Tippen passiert sind... (z.B. toll-free numbers)
