Hi:)
Ich hab leider noch ne kleine Frage:( An euch alle:) Alsooo
Ich analysiere ja gerade ein Gedicht, indem es um einen Mann geht,der zuerst arm war und später einer der reichsten Männer der Welt wurde. Jedoch verdient er sein Geld durch die Anfertigung von Kriegsmaterialien
Doch dabei hat er so ein schlechtes Gewissen, dass er fast sein gesamtes Geld für universellen Frieden spendet
Nun soll ich folgende Frage beantworten:
Discuss the problems of a career like Andrew Carnegies and give your own opinion on the social implications of such a life as it is described in the text.
Bis jetzt habe ich folgenden Aspekt:
From the society's point of view, the money that has been spent is unhelpful (or: the money has been spent in vain) regarding universal peace, because Andrew Carnegie gained his money through the advancement of the war. (but he spent it, because of his bad conscience)
Habt ihr noch Idee?:) Wäre euch suppppperr dankbar! :-*

It's not so easy to judge about this situation because the man's situation is an antagonism.
On one hand he earns his money by producing things that kill other people but on the other hand he has a bad conscience himself and spend some of his money.
One point of view could be that everybody has to earn some money to exist and not everybody has the chance to decide how he/she will do it. Another point of view is the ethical position that would be of the position that it's not representable to earn money with the affiction of other people.
All in all I think that everybody has to form his/her own oppinion about this story. Everybody has to know for him-/herself if he/she could handle this situation with his/her mind.
